On this page
This policy covers what ApplianceRepairListing(“we”, “us”) collects when you use www.districtappliancerepair.com, what we do with it, and how you can opt out. Using the site means you accept these practices.
Information we collectPermalink to this section
You can browse every listing without creating an account or registering. Here is what we do collect:
- Information you send us. If you email us or submit our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to respond.
- Automatically collected technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics tools record standard log data such as IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Cookie and advertising data. Third-party services, including advertising networks, may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. See the sections below.
We do not collect sensitive personal data, and we never ask for payment details. There are no transactions on this site.
How we use informationPermalink to this section
- To operate, maintain, and improve the directory.
- To respond to questions, listing requests, and corrections.
- To understand which pages and locations are useful so we can expand coverage.
- To display and measure advertising, including limiting how often the same ad is shown.
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, spam, security incidents, and technical problems.
We do not sell your personal information. Contact form submissions stay with us — we never forward them to repair companies as leads.
Cookies and similar technologiesPermalink to this section
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We and our ad partners use them to remember preferences, count traffic, and serve ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings any time — the directory still works, though ad measurement may be affected.
We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals because there is no agreed industry standard for doing so.
Third-party services and advertisingPermalink to this section
We use third-party vendors to host the site and count traffic. Each vendor operates under its own privacy policy.
We do not currently serve third-party advertising. The ad positions you may see on the site are house promotions for our own free tools, and they set no advertising cookies. The section below describes what changes if and when we introduce a third-party ad network, so you can see the terms in advance — it is not a description of what happens today.
- Google AdSense. If we introduce AdSense, Google would act as a third-party vendor using cookies to serve ads on this site. Google’s use of advertising cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — would enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We will update this policy and this page before that begins.
- Other ad networks. Additional third-party ad networks or exchanges may serve ads here and may likewise use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to measure ad effectiveness and personalize what you see.
- Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Analytics providers process technical data on our behalf.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Details on how Google uses data from sites that use its services are available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Listings on this site link to third-party business websites, phone numbers, and mapping services. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Business listing informationPermalink to this section
Listings describe businesses and contain business contact details — company name, address, phone number, service area, and similar commercial information — compiled from public sources or submitted by the business. If you own a listed business and want your listing corrected or removed, email hello@districtappliancerepair.com and we will act on reasonable requests.
Data securityPermalink to this section
The site runs over HTTPS. The data we hold is minimal — mostly email correspondence — and we keep only what we need. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive personal or financial information through the contact form.
Data retentionPermalink to this section
We keep email correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a record of listing changes. Server logs and aggregate analytics are retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized.
International visitorsPermalink to this section
This site is operated from the United States, and the hosting, analytics, and advertising providers we rely on process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate. If you use the site from outside the United States, information about your visit is transferred to and processed in a country whose data-protection rules may differ from those where you live.
Where we handle the personal information of people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on your consent for optional cookies and advertising, and on our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the directory for the technical data described above. You can withdraw consent or object at any time by emailing hello@districtappliancerepair.com.
Your choices and rightsPermalink to this section
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@districtappliancerepair.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
Children’s privacyPermalink to this section
This site is for adults arranging appliance repairs. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us data, let us know and we will delete it.
Updates to this policyPermalink to this section
We may update this policy as the site, our advertising partners, or applicable law change. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted prominently. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
